crash cages

Re: crash cages
i'm a real stunter, i use my stunt bike on the track (minus the bar and the loop), and it is perfectly safe and is set up properly.
what about the more practical aspect of riding: the guy who wants to rock out in parking lots and needs the protection of the 'stunt' cage, but also likes to ride fast on the streets and needs the protection of the 'street' cage...what does he do??? (hint: go with FI!!)
i still say invest in ONE cage that does it ALL!
as a top level stunter and an expert FUSA racer, the Freestyle Ingenuity cage and FI products as whole will always get my vote, and i endorse them fully because they are the best!
**not knocking anyones cage designs or their own preference**

like you said yourself, youve never tested these products, so you havent seen them in action before. they do work parking lots and twisties. weve been testing them for over a year now. crashes include a high speed tank wheelie gone wrong; a freeway lowside on the I-10(just about the worst freeway in CA); flips over a dog, onto a curb, into a fence, with only a broken clip-on; 70+ into a 4X6 post with only some rear fairing damage(i rode the bike home myself cuz my friend was in the hospital).
plus they are only 150 shipped!!!! cant beat that. you could buy a track cage, some sliders and still have money left over.

These "street cages" are made for people who race and for riders who don't want the FULL cage ... these don't have any bottom pieces at all to scrape in turns or twisties
that cage will drag.

they are resricting in the fact that yes, you will lose about 1/2 cm of ground clearance. if you are that serious then this product isnt for you. you need to have on mushroom sliders only. extended sliders would be bad for this person as well. a person that can ride that serious probly has a race specific bike and therefore wouldnt be interested in our product.
but instead of paying 250 for a cage that is also sliders....you could pay 150 for a track cage and still get some sliders for around $40 and you still havent spent as much as you would for a FI cage.
and you guys make it seem like its so hard to take off 3 bolts and put some sliders back on. takes 10 min max if youve ever used a wrench and some sockets before, thats a joke. sorry if im coming off as an *** but thats how it really is. for the FI you take off what 4 bolts? with our track cage, most of the time you take off 3 bolts, so its not like you can use time saving as a marketing tool

hey guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 this has become a MY COMPANY IS BETTER POST!!! teach your awesome, keep on riding!!! i heard fi sux so i got a 905 cage. btw if you crashed a full on twelve that track cage would not hold up, if you can scrape 1/2cm from the ground scraping knee; then that cage will give a little and prolly your stator will hit the ground.

things cages shouldnt protect are tail sections, tanks and clip-ons. if youre breaking things on your motor then what is the point of having a cage?

I HAD A POWERS ON MY GSXR 1000 AND EVEN THE SLIGHTEST WRECK SENT THE CAGE INTO THE STATOR COVER AND BROKE IT ?
I GOT RID OF THE GSX FOR AN RR NOW.
AND NOW IM DECIDING ON ....
FI BECAUSE I LIKE TO WORK AND MAINTAIN MY BIKE ALOT.
AND I LIKE THE IDEA THAT U CAN JUST REMOVE THE LOOP FOR MAINTENCE.
I HEARD THEY ARE BUILT OUTOF CHOMEOLLY NOW.
I ALSO HEARD THAT THE BRAKE AND BEND MOTOR MOUNT BOLTS ?
SO I'M WONDERING....
IS THIS FI CAGE GOING TO HOLD UP FROM A HARD FALL FROM 12 WHILE IM (TRYING) TO LEARN CIRCLES ??
(WITHOUT BRAKING MOTOR MOUNTS AND STATOR COVERS ?)
OR
I'M THINKING ABOUT GOING WITH 905 CAGES.
I KNOW THEY ARE STRONG. AND SEEN EM IN ACTION.
BUT MY BOY HAS ONE ON HIS RR AND ITS DOES KNOCK INTO YOUR SHINS ALOT....
SO BASICKLY I HAVE BLOODY SHINS AND DONT WORRY ABOUT MY BIKE .AND I WONT BE ABLE TO WORK ON IT WHILE THE CAGE IS ON.
OR...
I GO WITH THE FI CAGE AND TAKE MY CHANCES EVEN THOUGH ALL THE BAD RUMORS I'VE HEARD.
EITHER WAY IM GOING WITH THE FI 12 BAR.

Re: crash cages
the FI wont break motormounts if you tighten the bolts down properly...and you are right, it will protect the bike AND you can take the loop off for maintenance or hitten the twisties...
they have done their research

I MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE YOUR (WORD)
AND GO WITH FI.
SEEMS LIKE ALL THE TOP STUNNA S HAVE EM .
EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE GIVEN TO THEM.
BUT I CANT SEE A BUNCH OF PEEOPLE ROCKING A CAGE THAT IS TROUBBLE EVEN IF IT WAS GIVEN TO THEM FOR FREE.
HMMMM......????,,,,,,....WE'LL SEE.

Re: crash cages
You could make it easy and make a custom cage My bike came ready to go from Paul Choiniere, caged out Paul's the man :YEAH because it still held up after an 80 mph crash If it's a custom cage it can hug the fairings. You can't see it too well in the avitar, but I'm posting some post crash pics hopefully this week, or next :YEAH
