Sprocket/Stator Cover Mod

I see that our brudda from down unda has done this (its his bike)

Who else has done it? Any problems doing it? Liek shoes, pants, laces, etc gettin caught?

What did you use to cut it?

Looks dope and would save all that CRAP from gettin caught up in there

If I was gonna do it, I'd say use a Dremel. They are the ****. Or a laser

Hey Shugga, Used a plasma cutter & cleaned it up wit a file. At times it does bite a chunk off my heal, but overall so much easier than takin the dammn thing of to clean after most rides. One of my boys used a hacksaw blade & cut by hand . took him so long.

I was going to do that to mine.......but why...you are just asking for rocks and debris to get kicked up in there and somebody will end up losing a shoelace or part of their pants. Take the cover off and powdercoat it instead.

The idea is so there isn't a bunch of crap caught in there. I know this was a big problem when I went on shuggs ride last time. Hell, there probably still is a lot of dirt in there. I think I may do this mod.

The only thing that gets caught in there with the stock cover is whatever is stuck on the cchain. With the cover mod as shown objects of any and every size can fly onto the sprocket and chain. Having the cover whole also helps keep mud and chain lube from being thrown on you while riding. 3 bolts hold it on so cleaning the crud out every once in a while is no problem.

Re: Sprocket/Stator Cover Mod

Used a band saw with a thin blade to cut mine. Just follow the contour of the casting. Cleaned it up on the belt sander. If you run off road at all this mod is the way to go, and it's free.
