XR70 Forks on a fiddy....

OK so I have an XR70 I dont want... and I have a XR50 with REALLY wobbly forks...

Why do i want to change them over? Do I really want to?

And I know it has been posted before... but Im still a little lost because others get off on a tangent about other options...

If I unbolt the forks.. and unbolt the swingarm from the 70... what EXACTLY do I need to do to put them on my fiddy?

I hear that some guys have shortened the fork tubes on the 70 forks and then cut the springs...

ANYONE??
THANKS!

I mean just to make it ridable now... I have been told I can use the XR70 shock...

So I would only need a triple clamp?

You should be able to use the 70 triple clamps.Never tried it though.I think there might be an issue with the brake stopper on the fork though. But run an xr70 front wheel that would work great. The whole front end should work and that would be easy and work great. If you have the stuff laying around just try it

Re: XR70 Forks on a fiddy....

They'll bolt up. I have them on mine. Stock clamps will hit the tank at full lock, and you will need to grind the brake stay down a bit to make it fit. Also need to fab up a cable holder. Swingarm and shock will fit also. Need to weld a brake stay on it and your done. It's all easy enough to do once you start tearing into it. You'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Any questions just hit me up.
