how to race?

i have a stock 03 yzf 600r and i ride all the time, with 600cc's and 1300cc , i have gone fast (145-150) but never really raced a car. I just want to make sure i know what im doing before some dikk head pulls up next to me in a car at a red light and wants to race. Now when im riding and i want to just mess around i red line 1st-3rd gear, get in 4th and about 1/2 into 4th click back down to 2nd gear and open her all ther way up, that usually makes me fly pretty quickly. i want to be prepared because i know it is going to happen but i just wan tto be able to say buh-bye when they try to race. but what do you guys suggest, any help especially from fellow yzf rider will be greatly appericated.

P.S. Are ther any cars i should stay away from so i dont get like a 911 or vette. I know a gsxr 600 can probaly get at any car but what about my yzf?

Bikes are fast, plain and simple. They will beat a lot of cars depending on the rider. I don't recommend street racing, as it gives riders and car enthusiasts a bad name. However if your gonna do it anyways, just do it on a closed side street or industrial park or something. As for what car you might lose to, your gonna get a lot of different replies from different people. Just because one guy beat a 911 on a 600cc bike, doesn't mean another can or did. There are too many variables. I know your bike is stock, but what about the car? Whats done to it that you don't know about. It's the sleepers that'll take your ***. The flashy Mustang "cobra" could just be a gt with the cobra bodykit, and the civic that is all riced out could be pushing 600WHP. The "viper" might be a kit car with a VW motor that fools ya, but yet your the idiot cuz you THINK you smoked a viper. There is way too much to consider, and it's not like at a street light your gonna tell him/her to pop the hood. I suggest going to a track or at least organizing a race in a closed/non-populated area better. That way you know who your racing, what your racing, and your not gonna kill the family with 3 kids coming home from dinner out. I'm not trying to flame anyone who races, or call anyone an idiot. I used to drag my old car on the street. USED to. Theres a reason I don't anymore. I lost a friend who was racing, who also killed 2 kids and their mother when he lost control changing lanes. Oh yeah, racing is worth it . Just my
