Alright, a picture showed up that explains the tire grooving. Start with a slick and cut it to your desired pattern for maximum grip. See the grooves in the rear?

If you can hack it out like that and control it you are the man. I could never do it. I am a mere mortal though.

LOL, I didnt say I could do that but I can come close. All ya gotta do is get the hang of it, my dad and I got invited to ride with the pros at Road America in WI. We rode with Kevin Schwantz, Aaron Yates, Scott Russel, Mike Smith and Benny Carlson before he even got into riding motards, He Beat Kevin Schwantz!!

We were on pretty much stock DRZ 400s but man it was fun trying to hang with those guys, their bikes were sooooo fast and they were so smooth. Following Yates into a corner and watching him pitch it sideways was INSANE! Russell tucked up underneath me in a corner, he was braking so hard his back tire was as high as my knee! I damn near wrecked cuz i was awe struck. Damn good time!

Motards are freaken amasing to watch race. where they arnt as fast as say street racing (usualy toping out at like 120 kph) They are soo cool. Ahh well but you guys already know that. I think alot of pratcing for hacking cornors on the street is from riding in the dirt, Its really amasing how much skills from the dirt can save your butt on the street. Especialy if you have riden on a kawasaki 636 or a 900 or some thing where a slight bit of gas on a knee down cornor will brake your rear end lose. Sliding around in the dirt defently keeps you from losing stuff like that.

Hey i also noticed Aprilia is building a supermotard hehe.

The kid that i was talking about before, Benny Carlson, started out a flat track racer. You know, where you break the back end loose around the corner. I watched him race and he wasnt as good as what i expected, but then i saw him ride the motards and he was just incredible. I guess thats why he finished the season in the top five rankings.

Yeah i'd love to see some footage of aprilias new bike in action. I bet that things mean as hell. And it looks pretty bad *** too.
