Changing my rear tire

ok i blew my rear tire. I have a spare and i have the tools. But I have never changed a tire on a bike before. I am mechanically inclined and have worked on my bike before and other vechicles. Just wondering if anyone has any advice. Should I attempt it my self or should I take it in? By the way I have an 01' F4i

do it yourself. it's not hard at all, and it'll save you $30.

all u need is some screw drivers but you might **** up your rim a little if you care. I do mine myself. I brake the bead with my car and a 2X4. Put the board of the side of the tire and back up on to it. And flip and do the same. Makes it a lot eaiser taking tires off, that u haven't blow to pieaces

i have a 02 f4i all you need to do is jack up the rear end with anything you can use, then all there is are one bolt and that is the axel bolt. take that off then pull the whole axel out, move the tire forword to take off the chain then pull the tire off, the brake calleper should stay right there. if it comes off it fits onto a sleeve, it is pretty easy.the chain tightners stay in place to.

check this out, this is the how to:

http://www.clarity.net/~adam/tire-changing-doc.html

I do it like that, with the tire levers it's a piece of cake. The only thing is you shouldn't build the bead breaker with wood, I destroyed mine after 4-5 tires... you should build it in metal, or use the shovel or car method.

get a bid *** c clamp....tighten it around the tire to brek the bead....once bead is broke have 3 flat thin pry bars...and use 2 as spotters to hold the tire where you want it as your pulling it off and just ease it off..inching forward as you go....also if you care about your riom scratching it you may watn to cut a shampoo bottle or some kind of plastic bottle open to put under the pry bars to prevent scratching... a litle soap and water to slide the new tire on and your set....io do mine myslef

if you have a second bike or a friend stops by, use there bike to break the bead. pit the rim on a piece of plywood to protect it from the floor and pull the second bike up and put the kickstand downand then pull the bike towards you with the kickstand right on the edge of the tire, the bead should break with ease

Got it. Thanks for the help guys. Getting the tire off the wheel was a bitch. Not a whole lot to it at all.
