shinko or bridgestone???
i need a new front tire and can get either a bridgestone bt015 or a shinko stealth and money is tight but the bridgestone is 20 dollars higher and money is a little tight. so is the bridgestone 20 dollars better? will the shinko mess up my stoppies. it is on a zx10 and ive never ran the shinko front

Re: shinko or bridgestone???
Shinko's are pretty bunk in my opinion... I'd rather run a used front made by someone else than a new Shinko.
Like everyone else said... if you can get your hands on a Pilot Power it's worth the money. When doing stoppies, it becomes a safety issue even more so than feel and control.

Re: shinko or bridgestone???
I look at shinko as being a Chinese junk tire... I've never ran one, and I'd only run one if it was free, and it was a rear..
I compare shink to chen-shin to zong-chen

Re: shinko or bridgestone???
Well are you showing cords on your current front. Just chill on teh stoppies till you can get a decent tire. Why waste money on a crap one when a little bit more saving you can get a good tire?

Re: shinko or bridgestone???
I went ahead and did what I knew was right. I went with the bridgestone. The tire was bad enough that I needed one for this weekend but I'm definately going for the pilot after this one. I know shinko is junk but its so affordable. If you are.drag racing they are a great choice though.

I'd like to say I'm sorry for asking a stupid question that I already know the answer to, but I had to have someone else tell me so I could convince myself. Thanks for not blasting me.

Re: shinko or bridgestone???
dude that was not a stupid question.
if it was me I choose none of the above.
A Dunlop Qualifier is better then both of those.
bty I think Shinko means slick oily tire in chinese ,
a Pilot Power is usually first choice for stunters and racers both on and off the track. see if you can find a nice set of race off's it will save you a ton of money in the future.
stunters and racers have their opinion about those as well.

Re: shinko or bridgestone???
if i had a track near by i would use the race day tire but we rarely come across those and i am only ridin streets with this bike so they wouldnt last long on this bike. but i do use used tires anytime i have them on hand. however we just havent had any come into our shop this year worth keping, usually we have some with a nail or just some that idiots think arent any good and we will set them aside for our own personal bikes.
