Thumbs up Bike won't start without instrument cluster

I'm going for the street fighter look on the 929.

I removed the front fairing, light assembly, instrument cluster and front bracket today and ran into a problem. With the main instrument cluster harness disconnected the the bike won't start. You can turn the key on and the fuel pump purges but the starter button is non functional. If you plug the main harness back in the bike starts right up of course....

Is there anyway around not having that harness plugged in? I don't want to have to use the factory instrument cluster

Thanks

i have a 929 but never tried to start it without the gauges but if its like the F4i you just have to use a jumper wire

I dug a little deeper and I didn't realize there was a connector right at the guage pod you can disconnect.

I was trying to disconnect everything (light wiring, guages and misc) at the large main connector. That's the big tan connector with like 50 wires going in and out of it with the clear plastic shield over it. The bike wouldn't start with that large connector disconnected....so for now I have all that wiring just hanging there zip tied to the forks with just the guage pod dissconnected. Kinda ugly with all that wiring up there but......thats the only way it will run.
