Gixxer 600 vs F4i

So I have been lookin for a f4i with no luck and found a good deal on a 02 gixxer 600. About 2k for it but my question is..

Do the gixxers withstand falls pretty good like the f4is? How strong are the subframes on the 02 gixxers? Should I just wait for a f4i or grab the gixxer?

I also heard about the gixxer oil pickup problem but isnt that easy to fix?

I have been lookin for a bike for awhile now so this gixxer is lookin mighty fine just dont know if I should keep lookin for a f4i.

Re: Gixxer 600 vs F4i

from what ive heard they have weak subframe tabs that like to break from hard hits, and the hondas are much better for the whole oil pick up deal.

Re: Gixxer 600 vs F4i

How about this--a good friend of mine has an F4i--no cage, no bar--I witnessed him loop this thing 8 count it EIGHT times trying to 12 it---picked it up every time and kept going--only minor ****...this should be the deciding factor here!! Im sure many can back the F4i up. Me personally, Im a 929 kinda stunt rider--does the job fine for me!!! Hondas rule!!

some of the best swear by gixxers while some love hondas. i ride with a kid with 15k stunting miles on his stock gixxer motor with no pick-up just over filled. but i also kno someone who is on his fifth motor in his gixxer 6 this year. i say buy the gixxer, re-enforce the subframe, get a pick up and stunt the **** outta it.

Re: Gixxer 600 vs F4i

Gixxers do have weak sub-frames. For stunting, I'd take an F4i. The seating position makes it wheelie easier, as noted by my brother who stunted an '02 Gixxer 6, and has now played on an '01 F4i. In fact, he wheelied that F4i and my Gixxer in my avatar, both within 2 minutes of each other. It was his first ride on any Honda Sport bike. He'd also take the F4i for a stunter over the Gixxer. Gixxers are good for stunting, but they def. do not take the falls as well as Honda's. Also, the Gixxers tend to jump up a bit faster than the F4i's, not bad if that's your thing, but the F4i feels more controllable.

Honda Honda Honda all the way, You should see what i do to my f4i. Never broke the subframe learnin 12's, never broke any frame tabs only fairing, never even a bar end. My buddies gsxrs are always in the shop with broken subframes and getting frame tabs welded back on.
