Sturgis 2004

You guys are planning a trip to Daytona this year, right? Well, save your money, don't go. Make plans for Sturgis, SD. You will never dream of Daytona again, I promise. Jerry and I went this year and we couldn't believe our eyes. They have everything there, yes boys, even for you. If you don't go in 2004 you should plan for 2005. We plan on going to Myrtle Beach in 2004. We want to try all of them at least once. Really, email me or NHharleyD@aol.com to learn more about Sturgis. Let me tell you this, it's not just in Sturgis. Think of a radius of 100 miles all around. No matter where you go it is welcome bikers and there is so much to see and do. You like bars? Try Saloons & Gambling. We kept winning for awhile and when you gamble you get free drinks. We stayed in Rapid City and we had the best time of your lives. We don't care if we do bike week in Daytona again. We will try Biketoberfest instead. So far I don't think anything can beat Sturgis. Daytona can't. You will want to ride the Black Hills! The amazing sites; go into Wyoming too. It was an experience. Here is a taste of what we saw.

Sturgis = Harley's ... Don't they burn a "rice rocket" there every year? There are a lot of Harley's at Daytone but a lot of sport bikes, too. Safer there ... LOL ... BUt glad you guys had a good time ...

Nope, you got it wrong. There's nothing dangerous for sports bikes at all. We saw many sport bikes as we did any other kind of bike. It was better than Daytona and no, they didn't burn a sport bike at all. Maybe somewhere where we weren't. It was awesome and we saw many mid 20's kids there too. There was one young man on a sport bike that lived there and he helped us get to where we wanted to be. It was beyond description. It's not anything like Daytona or Laconia where they have a tendency to pick on sport bikes. Everyone is treated equally. From what we saw anyway. We noticed the big difference in respect to anyone on 2 wheels. Didn't matter what the 2 wheeler was either. Like I said, we don't even think about Daytona now. We are going to try Biketoberfest in Daytona some year, but we plan on going back to Sturgis. You have to go to understand. It's not all harley's at all. I would say the ratio is the same as Daytona, even Laconia but the treatment is BETTER.

I know what you are thinking it is now.. I was thinking, why is she saying that? It was bugging me and then it dawned on me. You are describing the "Harley Rendevous." My Father, Brother and a close friend of theirs go to the Harley Rendevous every year. It's in New York and it goes for 4 or 5 days. It is held in this HUGE field and no police are allowed. Go with a Harley or in a vehicle. Do not take any other type of bike there or you will go home bikeless. They DO burn a sport bike every year. They have a big bonfire and anyone foolish enough to go there with anything but a Harley loses it. Lots of people bring bikes to burn. It is sequestered, you can't roam the area, only stay in the field for the duration. Like I said, it is unruly, open sex, anything goes, no police. I've never been there and don't ever plan on going but I have seen pictures and the stories my Dad, brother and our friend Hodge tells me are quite hair curling. That doesn't happen at Sturgis, not even at the Buffalo Chip.

Oh yeah -- I wish I could remember everything Chelsea and Kaylea says. They crack me up. This was just said to us because she was telling us she is learning the months and the days of the week. She asked Pappy (Jerry) to pick a month of the week. It was soooo funny. It was fresh in my mind and I just loved it so much I had to put it in as my quotes. You had to be there, but I still love the sentence.
