Why don't threads get marked as read after I've viewed them like the used to? Some are marked as new all day long.

As long as I've been on here threads are all marked read after you haven't been on the site for a set time, like 15 mins or something. If you come back after that the only ones marked new are the ones that have come up since your last visit, but if you come back before that they are all still marked new. Kind of annoying to me too. So, that's all I know.

Why isn't it set up so that the threads that are read get marked read, and the threads that are unread are marked unread?
