Yeah you can see what someone gave you...under the User CP, All the way at the bottem of the page. It says " Latest Reputation Received"

Reputation points are for showing if someone is a usefull part of our community or a pain. On the bottom left of a post you will see the scales icon as well as the Warning looking one. You can add to somsones reputation if you feel they post good things and if the post BS you can report them therefore taking points away from em.
