Finished XR Pics....

Here you go fellas. Finally got her done. Still need to hook up the directionals and put fluid in the front brake. I've done too many mods to list... so ponder over the pics and let the questions fly.

Here's some before and after pics....

Re: Finished XR Pics....

I've already taken the bike out and played a little. First off... it handles great. Lots of power for this elevation. I need to do some jetting cause it's running a little lean. I've already clicked through a couple gears in a wheelie too... and yes... it'll pull up easily... it's a 500 BABY!!!

I'd like to thank you guys for checking out my build and following along with the pics. Hope you liked the whole build as much as I did!

-Drew

Please refer to this thread for the entire build....

The switch is actually the kill switch. I figure that on a bike like this... an ignition key is only as good as the wires it's connected to. So I might as well hide the switch the best I can. Pretty trick huh?

And no... that paint didn't last long on the head pipe. It was smoken pretty bad when I first started it. Oh well... it's blk now... I'll leave it be.

Re: Finished XR Pics....

Man... this bike is awesome! Got it registered yesterday and took it out on the highway. It'll do 65-70 no prob... just purring along. It rides real smooth with the street meats on there too. Cornering takes a little to get used to, but once you get the feel for it... you can really rail around corners. It feels best at 50-55mph. Plenty of power to get up and go quickly and I can click a couple gears in a wheelie. Had a little problem with my front master cylinder, so I'm running the lever and cylinder off my EX. Luckily, it bolted right up so I have front brakes!

Re: Finished XR Pics....

Bought it on June 12th, and registered it on July 12th. Not bad for working outdoors, doing it all myself, and having it torn down to the frame.

Yes, the tires have tubes in them. They are tubeless tires, but because of the rims, they require you to run tubes in them.

I may take you up on that master cylinder. Josh Crain has one off a warrior for me and if it doesn't fit, I'll use your's. I think the stock XR one may still be good. It wasn't working at the time because the pistons were stuck... once I put the EX cylinder on, they became un-stuck... but I'd still like to have a back up just in case.

Those DRZ's are sick bikes. If you've got it all legal and ****... I'd love to try it next week!

Nice... I'd go for a ride. My bike isn't the best for wheelies, but I try. 3rd gear stand-ups are the best ones I can do on that bike. Sit-downs tend to wobble on me. Aside from the many oil leaks... the XR runs great with lots of nut. Of course Jordan can hop on and "ride" wheelies no problem.... but he's pro and I'm a dumb camera guy!
