My spring project....

Picked it up cheap. It's a 98' CBR600 F3. Needs a few parts if anyone can help. I'm setting it up street fighter style because it's cheaper than building it back to original condition. Not sure if I'll keep it or not, but it starts and runs awesome. Bone stock, so not much power. I rode it around the block, but with a broken "throttle side" clip on, it wasn't easy to ride. Has good tires, chain, and sprockets... plus low miles. Just need tail plastics and right side peg bracket. I've already got the bars and am ordering longer cables, so I should have it complete within a month or so... depending on my work schedule. Again... any help with parts is appreciated. Thanks.

Potential. Dent the tank, db bars, and a sprocket and it's on like donkey kong.

Are the red spark plug wires factory???

As far as I know... everything on the bike is stock. I rode it when I first brought it home. Runs great... shifts nice. Should be a good little commuter bike. I have NO plans of denting the tank or putting on a cage. It's only something to ride. I'm sure it'll get wheelied all the time... just not stunted.

Still trying to order longer cables, right peg bracket, and right tail plastics... plus the center tail plastics. Anyone??

Re: My spring project....

I finally got my bars mounted. I ended up drilling holes in the triple tree. Used Rethal clamps and Moose bars. It's a little lower than I would have liked, but I was able to use ALL my stock cables by re-routing them.

It's operational right now... just not street legal. But I still took it out for a spin in the rain. I'm deffinitly going to have to get a front fender if in case I get caught in the rain. I couldn't see ****! It's a lot snappier than I remembered. Runs good, drives straight. I wanted to still use the stock gauges for now. I'll look into an aftermarket set-up down the road when I can afford it.

Uhhh....I've had it 10 days... and only worked on it Sat and Sun. I rode it 5 miles just yesterday around the neighborhood. I'm pretty sure my neighbors hate me now!

And no... the gauge cluster stays... but not where it is right now. I'll be making a bracket to move it forward more just in front of the bars. And I'm not 100% yet, but it's for sale upon completion. I don't have much interest in making this my summer bike. I'd rather have an XR400 or XR600 to ride.... or better yet, my old XR500 once I get back to Colorado to pick it up. So if anyone wants a good stunt bike or street fighter... I got one for ya!!

I hear he's scrapin it... not "rollin". But yes, he is. Talked to him last week. He's gonna redo the air ride plumbing soon, so it'll be ready for cruisin this summer.

Re: My spring project....

Okay, okay... before you low riders jack up my thread... here's some more pics of the "spring project"

I remounted the speedo in front of the bars using a custom made bracket. I painted the tail, and exhaust. I still need the headlight and center tail piece to make it complete. The center tail piece that's on there now is just a sheet metal piece I fabbed up till I got the plastic one. It should be on the road this week.
