Me and Bri will run/walk it and Mr F4i will be our support crew. Get the water bottle mounts on it.
I think I will make all 5 miles at 10 minutes a mile. Starting off nice and slow this year. You wanna run it with me Bri?

On a side note: I have no plans on running another Marathon for a long time. I think half marathons will be my limit.

Re: Healthy body Healthy mind

hmm..... It's been a long time since I've run 5 miles. This time last year I was doing 4 miles per day. I tried running last week and I lasted about 2 miles before I gave up. LOL!!

I'm probably about a month away from 5 miles but I'll think about it. I could easily do it if I took a break or two.

Re: Healthy body Healthy mind

I'm doing about 2.5 miles at a 9 minute mile pace right now. Which ain't too bad considering I have asthma. I'm hoping to step it up to 3 miles, eventually.

Re: Healthy body Healthy mind

This is my first race of the year. I am sure none of us will do what we want to run. I just like to sign up for these for a few reasons.

1. Makes you run the full length
2. Since it is a longer run there will be people to support you giving out water.
3. Lots of fun afterwards with food and drinks

Cameron you should go for it also. Good times by all!!!

Re: Healthy body Healthy mind

9 minute mile is good Cam..... I think you're running at 6 - 6.5 mph. I typically run at 5.5 - 6. It takes me about 10.5 - 11 min per mile depending on the surface and incline. You're running a fairly decent clip.

Brian

PS. How long you keeping that pace?

Imagine those who win the Boston Marathon are running 26 miles in 2hrs 10min? That is a constant pace of over 11mph. I don't even think I can sprint that fast!!

I would if I actually had more time to train. Even still, I won't be here since I'll be in Tennessee this weekend to see the family.

Re: Healthy body Healthy mind

Cam that is a great pace for you. Very good.

I just got back from the gym and ran 3 miles in 29 minutes. That included 5 minutes at 9mph and 5 mintues of a 2-3 mph cool down.

Every tuesday nights there are 5k in Lowell that start at 7pm. I think I am going to run them each Tuesday night before bike night. They start in April; Anyone care to join?

Not even. I had it when I was kid, and I was actually really scrawny and thin. The lack of air is what lead to the extra pounds - inactivity.

I'm still kinda sick, but I still managed to do 2 miles in 20 min, 15 seconds tonite. Then I walked at 2.5 - 3 for about 7 min to get my heartrate back down. As long as I keep it up, I'll drop the weight.

FYI - I'm down about 9 pounds since February 1. :YEAH
