look for a key code on the ignition cylinder, some have it there I was told when I did the same thing. I went to the local Honda shop, they were USELESS! Finally bought a blank from them for 3 bucks and went to a local locksmith. 10 minutes later I had 2 new keys. He only hit me for 5 bucks to cut each new key.

Basically I was told by Honda that without the key code, they could do nothing more than sell me a new ignition cylinder.

Good luck

OH man that blows Mike.

I make a copy of every keyring I own. I can't even count how many frikin keys I have lost.

You can pull the whole ignition out and bring it to a qualified lockshop. They have key cards to look up the number on the lock and cut a key. At least the good shops can do it that way. Either that or drop the coin and buy an ignition and trunk lock set off ebay like Bri said.

Good luck,

Thanks for the input guys, I work in lexington so i guess i'll head down to greater boston motorsports at lunch and grab a set and go home tonight to find that fuggin code..

question, How many digits is the code? or would it be better to just pull the ignition cylinder for the locksmith?

I'm having a rough week....

Pull that biotch outa the bike. If you really want to get tricky you can even open the lock up with some of those torx that have the hole in the middle and take the lock out and use a screwdriver to turn the igniton on. It worked on on a Superhawk ignition. Not sure bout yout RR.

how about heading down to GBM and telling them someone stole your 929. Instead of dropping $$ on a set, just replace the whole bike. But before you head to GBM, stop at my house to drop something off

jk.

Mike

I know that Suzuki's have the "key code", the number that a dealership would need to cut you a key, stamped on the ignition. I am fairly certain that Honda does the same.
You would need to physically remove your ignition from the bike for this though. I don't know how much work this would be on your bike. Maybe be worth it to just get the blanks from GBM and have a locksmith cut em for ya.
Don't have any experience with which one would work better but good luck getting the keys for your bike.

EFF GBM they are gonna charge you like 3 gazillion dollars for anything.

I wouldn't even bring my drain oil there for disposal that's how much of co(ksuckers they are over there.

Take it out.......go to a locksmiff and get minted out.

Taking the ignition off a suzuki is hard due to the safety bolts that hold it too the tripple tree, not sure if the honda is the same.

you could always bust the ignition open, permantly put it in the on position and tape it up and have a key/plug for every 929
