hey MA people, ?

I was wondering how many of you guys and girls took your mirrors off? and out of you, how many have gotten flack from the cops because of it? I'd like to get an overview to see if it's worth it. I've taken mine off before and it's a bitch turning your head every 2 seconds but...

thanks for the answers

ps anyone riding after work or anything this week?

no one has every said boo to me for no mirrors...it does take a while to get used to and is def more dangerous at first, but once you get used to it, it is fine. if i ride a bike with mirrors now, i get all dicobobulated and ride poorly...

I've been harrassed, but never ticketed. Gotta have them for inspection time though. I hate not having them on the highway but everywhere else doesn't bother me.

I got a ticket in arlington last fall for not having them, along with no tail light, bliinkers, bent plate and bald rear tire. Usually I tell them they broke off

personally, I hate riding with mirrors, they get in your way when lane spliting among other things.

I was heading to Cameron house on Saturday night and blew by an undercover cop on 128 south. He pulled me over and discovered this:

Speeding 95mph in a 55 zone
No blinkers
No registration
No insurance
No motorcycle permit or license
Having a passenger with no motorcycle license
Having a Mass license with NH plate

well my situation is different...being on a mtn. bike and not being able to keep up with the cars it's a pain in the neck having to turn around and suddenly some dumb minivan is up my ***...but ever since i got a mirror for mine it's done wonders! obviously i still look over my shoulder, and sure the distance and definitely off, but still, the false sense of security is nice. it's also better to switch to the other side of the road to see what i'm facing before they hit me. lol......
but in your case, if i was going with the flow of traffic i don't see why mirrors would make a difference other than on the highway...even still, it's not like you're caged in a car.... enjoy the riding season. ....see ya

Are you making up words again? I bet you do it to your students all the time so you look smart.

Anyway, I don't know the legality of it, but you shouldn't rely on your mirrors anyway. There are too many blind spots another car can slip in.

Mirrors

Put your mirrors on if you ride a lot of highway.
If you stunt a lot and crash a lot take your mirrors off or they will break and crack your plastics, supports, and mirrors.
People who have them off have already broke their mirrors or brackets.
Mirrors are very safe and I miss mine all the time!!!

Thanks guys for the reply's. I think they're gonna come off. I didn't know there was that many people w/out them. I was thinking of buying one of those nice German looking nutshells, so I don't have to turn 180 degrees to see behind me. Plus less sweat on the face in summer. But they look stupid so...

But thanks for the input.

Hey Ftrain that BLOWS but good escape! I do the same, just admit you were being dumb and plea stupid. they let you go?!?

lmao, so what are you saying? I don't know what it is but I just hang my head and say I know I was being retarded and they just give a big sigh like "now I can't give him a ticket". Don't get me wrong, I've gotten f-d too before by tickets.
