arai is probably twice the price of and icon...and in my opinon arai is the best helmet on the market....the wind shields on and arai work flawlessly... shoei's fall down when riding as for icons i don't know...but like you said fit is everything....and about price...well what is your head worth...$100.00 or $500.00?

when buying a helmet you want to get one that is DOT and SNELL certified the DOT will certify anything it's the SNELL certification that means anything....good luck

I think that HJC makes the Icon helmets......I think that you get what you pay for, but mostly I have never had a more comfy helmet than my Arai, thats all I will ever buy. Joe

Shoei's are nice but the fit is wierd if you don't have the right shaped head, the windshield falls down all the time and never stays where you put them, the finish of the paint tends to chip easy, and the ventilation isn't up to par... other than that they do offer really good protection...

I have had an Arai and Suomy. Both worked flawlessly. That is a pretty sweet helmet in the pic. Unfortunately I would never wear any type of helmet that I did not see one of the pro's wearing.

just my .02

Helmets are tricky. Some brands fit different shapes of heads better than others.

I'll stick to my Shoei

thanks to everyone who replied......i check all the specs on all the top brand helmets and the only difference i found was in the name and even bigger in the price....The icon seems to be the top choice for the money......

Hey FSOS,

I think you have some deep seated rage issues with the Shoei's? THat from the 4 feet of snow you're still under?

My buddy shawn still has your corrections sweatshirt, been meaning to get that back to you. Finally lowered the sv, looks sweet.

I've had my shoei for 3 years and about 18k bike miles, and I'm on the original shield and its never fogged up or anything.

Take care man!

Chris
