Stripped the frame.. help with mount bolt?

Stripped the frame down and added some support to it. It will be getting some paint this week.

Got a question on the top engine mount bolt. I need a longer one so I can add frame braces. I need about 3/4" longer then stock. Anyone know off hand what bolt I need? Is it a special "strength" of bolt? Not finding what I am looking for at the hardware stores around here..

Here is a few pics so far:

Pile of parts:

Here is the neck support piece after tacking and checking for fit:

Finished neck:

Other side:

Beefed up the welds at the subframe supports:

Added in two new subframe supports:

Here is the completed subframe enhancements:

Also added a new support bar to the tail section:

I have decided on using frame braces from the top engine mounts to a bolt and a hole drilled up at my new neck support to keep the spine from bending. I am still working on them. Let me know what you think. It all gets sand blasted and primed Monday night and painted on Tuesday. Painting the frame & swingarm & upper fork tubes/bottom triple. I will post more pics when done..

I would suggest a grade 6 or 8 bolt on everything you bolt back together.
I pick up all my hardware at the local auto store, make sure to ask for that grade...

just my

Yea I think its gonna hold up! Let me be clear tho this is not my welding work. This is all credit to my pops.

He's a fuggin when it comes to welding! We sat down friday night and came up with the plan. Then got up and he came over and hooked it up saturday morning. I just let him do his thing with the welder. I think it turned out sweet! With the frame braces I don't think I will be bending anything soon. I hope atleast!

FWIW...the motor mount bolt on the xrs are about 1/2" longer than the ones on the crf. You could order one from the honda dealer or go to NAPA and find a metric one that works.

kool thanks S&M. I am gonna go hunting for a grade 8 tonight and see if I can come up with one. If not the dealers are open tommarow I still need to get a couple other things before I can put it back together after its all painted so I will hit them up if nothing else.
