ARREST -- A Honda XR50 motorcycle was stolen on July 26 from a home in the area of 2000 S. Alta Vista Drive in Orem, according to police. Early Friday morning, around 3:30 a.m., Orem police officer Jim Flygare spotted the motorcycle in the area of 1500 S. Sandhill Road being driven by a man. Flygare tried to pull the motorcycle over, but the driver fled with the vehicle.

A chase ensued over several blocks and ended when the rider tried to make a turn into the Pinnacle Apartment complex and crashed. The driver then fled on foot and escaped in the dark, according to police.

Police found the key to the stolen motorcycle was attached to a key chain and on the key chain was a Gold's Gym tag that could be traced back to its owner, 18-year-old Seth Drake, according to police. Drake was found at home, just a couple of blocks from where the motorcycle was stolen.

After a short discussion with him and family members, Drake was arrested for possession of the stolen motorcycle. The driver chased by Flygare is believed to have been one of Drake's friends.
