Ebay fiddys

Hey guys I know this is such a waste of a post because everyone has gone over this 1000 times and said go get a Honda. Well I own a fiddy right now. its a real honda, love it to death. I been just wanderin through ebay lately at work because Im about to put some major money into my fiddy. ok but listen to this carefully. My fiddy right now is a little on the "Stunted" side lol. the rims r toast, subframe is a little tweaked, clutchside cover leaks a little from dropping it, plastics r rashed, seat is torn, you guys know how it is. The only things worth keeping on the bike is really the motor and the big bar kit I put on it. ANYWAYsss, Ive been looking at some of the knockoffs on ebay and I was wondering if anyon has just recent purchased something off ebay that is relative to the honda. Some (Keyword:some) of the knockoffs look like they wouldnt be too bad because they look EXACTLY like a honda. anyway, heres my thing. I cud go get a nice knockoff for 500 bucks and start with that instead of my bike. I know someone right now that will buy my fiddy minus my big bars for 500. So basically, heres the final ?... If you guys were in my situation, and you had about 6-700 bucks cash would you:

A) keep the honda and use the money to fix all the BS wrong with it and build it with pimp parts in the meantime

B)sell my fiddy to my boy, take that 500 and buy a knockoff fiddy, Put my big bars on the knockoff and then put the 6-700 in all modds

If i get the knockoff, I start out with everything fresh and can go from there. but it could be a piece of **** that breaks all the time and then that would be stupid as well. And by the way, im building a bike for dirt jumping but will be buying another set of rims so it can be easily converted to motard. thanx for the input guys

Re: Ebay fiddys

john, from what i understand...if you are just going to stunt the bike and not jump it (which i know you want to) then spend $500 (shipped) for a 100cc crf50 knock off isn't a bad deal. the motors have been reviewed a hundred times and most of the time the complaints are with the tranny but overall they're not that bad. it's the welds on the frame that i would be concerned with BUT you know a welder or you could just buy a stock xr/crf frame off of ebay for $60 - $100 and then mod it.

Re: Ebay fiddys

Keep the honda, fix it, and pimp it out. You'll be happy in the long run.

Honda's all the way, they are much more reliable, and last longer.

Trust me.

Ride Red.

to many people down here bought xtremes, sdg and even some of these knock offs...............all of them wasted their money and ended up getting Hondas......well except for this one girl I know that bought those ones off of ebay = which it no longer runs and they can't give it away.

But buy it and keep us posted how it goes.

see now thats what I was thinking. I mean youve seen me ride bro you know whats up. I mean either way, If I buy the honda or the knockoff, Im stilll going to put that money into the bike, i want to re-do the suspension front and back, HVYDUTY wheels so I can jump, and then just all boltons, extended shifter and brake, Hvyduty peg mount, exhaust, and anything else like that. So If I put the parts on the knockoff, its gonna be beefed up either way. The only thing that worries me is like you have all said. The tranny, Welds on frame, that kind of crap. you guys think the hubs will hold up? Im thinking maybe just buy the knockoff and see whats up with it before I sell my honda. Because if its a POS then Ill just keep the honda and say screw it.

I have both the Extreme 107 and the xr50!

Now unless you've owned both you really just don't know. I have repeatedly beat the **** outta the 107 as well as the xr and I have broke more **** on the xr than the Extreme. Possibly do to stunting it a bit more and being more stupid with it than the Extreme. Dollar for dollar the Extreme crushes the xr50 new price to new price. Way more stuff for the dollar without a doubt. Yes there are things that need to be modified to the Extreme 107 (defintely needed a new carb spacer ,air filter and needed to be rejetted badly but other than that the focking thing does liek 55-60 mph versus 30mph on the xr50. You make the call..I DID!!!

Re: Ebay fiddys

Keep the Honda. Me and Abe rode with a guy Thursday night who had a knockoff. It was the one where you couldn't even tell it wasn't a honda minus the stickers etc. All of the parts are interchangable. He had only owned it for about two weeks. He had already broken the chain. While riding with us in a parking lot. He dropped it once braking the front brake handle. Then riding more bent the front and rear wheel. It also looked the the subframe was a little tweaked. Mind you this wasn't jumping just stunting a little and he couldn't even stunt. So basically just riding he tore up more stuff then I have on my Fiddy for almost one full year of abuse.
Ride red. I say that and I own a Suzuki too.

Here the comments go ..I rode with this guy once or I and my friend rode with this guy. Lets try sentence for sentence

All of the parts are interchangable........kinda the only smart thing he said that most don't know.

He had only owned it for about two weeks. He had already broken the chain........ Alot of factors ther that could have caused the chain to break..... my stock xr50 did break too! Does it make it a bad machine.......NO!!! Simple buy a new one there 30 bux's!

He dropped it once braking the front brake handle........... Seen them all break that easily. Again buy a new one 10 bux's....BIG F'N DEAL!!

Then riding more bent the front and rear wheel........... Zillion factors here!!!! Seen Honda's go bad too..thank god mine haven't!!

It also looked the the subframe was a little tweaked. Mind you this wasn't jumping just stunting a little and he couldn't even stunt. So basically just riding he tore up more stuff then I have on my Fiddy for almost one full year of abuse. Well I can only go by my experience on this one because have never seen a stock nor my 107 that was tweaked!! I know for a fact the 107 went for a triple twist into the wrong side of a double and had no problems!! Secondly...for you to see its tweaked a little you have to measure that and I'm quite sure you didn't!!!

Ooooops...........there was one other smart thing he said........... I own a Suzuki too!!!!

Don't get me wrong but when I first got mine I had both and everyone was like ooohhhh I wanna see what you say in a few months or a year. WELL THE FOCKER IS STILL KICKING ***'S FOR THE $1800 I PAID FOR IT WITH NO FAILURES OTHER THAN THE BASICS!!!

Re: Ebay fiddys

the first time i dropped my honda the brake lever broke. i've riddin my friends extreme 110 that was beat to hell and it was still smokin' the crap out of his honda fiddy in every way. the only thing that went wrong with it was the battery died so the electric start didn't work (who uses that anyways) and the bushings for the swingarm had worn out. i rode that 110 on the street and it scared the poop out of me. it was mean!!!! can't wait til' my 125cc Thumpstar PRO gets here!!!! :YEAH

Re: Ebay fiddys

I brought 2 knockoff (100cc and XR50copy with 70cc) and it is good for me.

I don't do stunts.
I just ride on the fiddy run in Dallas.

I sold my 100cc copy to my brother. NO really problem with bike... YOu just have to tighten everything when you get it and than tighten it some more a week later. Had a little problem with the manual clutch, I just needed some fine tuning on it. The knockoff bike have to tweaked to get it in good shape. Heck, it is straight out of the chinese factory.

The bike was $550 with $150 shipping on ebay. This is a cheap bike and in no way can compare with the SDG or Extreme. I am sure if you spend on the quality parts it will be like the $1400 Extreme or the SDG.
There is a guy on ebay "dass" that sells knockoffs.. but his knockoffs are not straight from the factory.. he replaces some parts with qualtiy after market parts... but he also charges a hundred or two more.

PM me if you have any more specific questions.
