dealers profit on a 50
i was talkin to this guy i know who is a kawi/suzuki sales rep. and he told me if i go get a xr 50 from a honda dealership i probably won't be able to get the price down from what the MSRP says.
Is this true that the dealer only makes about 100 dollars of these things. Should i even bother trying to talk him down or should i just go there with a pocket of cash and say give me that one.....thank you.....have a nice day.
Tax returns are kinda like free money............well not really but you know what i mean.

yeah but how many other fees should there be, just tax..no.
theres no insurance or reg.,plate fees. I'll see when i go there if its more than just tax, i'll just say okay thanks.....and start walking out. Then maybe he'll be like ok ok lets see what we can do.

just came across this on the net...
When all the local competitive dealers are adding prep and freight and playing games trying to make a buck were slashing prices...WE WONT BE UNDERSOLD!.
maybe i should go back to the dallas dealer and call BS on all the extra fee's...

They charge "Set-up" which is putting the battery back in and filling it with oil and gas.
They charge freight.
They charge tax.
There IS registration (at least in Cali).
The set-up and freight are the charges you can negotiate.
But for the most part, dealers sell 50's to "make friends". Very little profit.
You should be able to get one for $1200 MAX out the door, all charges included. Period.

Hey boost, I bought mine at Dallas Honda and I was able to get the assembly fee knocked off the price. It saved me $104. I think the $1570 is the total of all the payments, if you make them all. That is all the interest and finance charges included. My ended up at almost $1200 and I do not have to make a payment for 90 days. I am going to pay it off with my check from Uncle Sam.
