Any Phoenix /MMI 50 RIDERS HERE?
Hey....is there any 50 riders that are here in Phoenix? I just moved here this week and am going to go to MMI. I am in norther phoenix. I was wondering if there are any phoenix riders here that may want to go ride. I was also wondering how cops were down here. What do they do if they catch you on the bike? And is it possible to make my 50 street legal here in arizona. I moved from california and I know that you can't make them legal there I was just wondering about here. Any info would be nice.
Thanks

I dont' know where any places are at yet. I am only a 1.5 from MMI in north phoenix. I live in the wickertree apartments off of N23rd AVE. I dont' have any big bikes just a 50 right now and I am not very good on top of that. But I am willing to ride and learn. Anyways let me know when you want to ride. Also what about getting my xr50 street legal here? Is it possible?

To be Street legal you need a mirror, headlight, brakelight/tailight and I think a horn. I'm not sure about turn signals, insurance and a motorcycle license is also required.
Sence its an out of state bike if you try to register it for street use, they will inspect it, and you are required to have all the D.O.T approved equipment.
This is what you do:
Take the title to DMV, and register it as a Recreational Vehical first. They will inspect it, but you dont need all the street legal stuff on it.
Go back next week, and switch the registration over to street legal. No inspection required now. You'll walk out with a plate. Should cost about $50. You'll have 30 days to insure it, and show proof. Dmv will send a letter reminding you.
So to sum it up, yes its very possible, one of the easiest places to street legal an OHV.
Send me a private message with your email, or phone number, and we'll meet up to ride. That goes for anyone in the phoenix area.
Later. :YEAH

Re: Any Phoenix /MMI 50 RIDERS HERE?
Nope not yet.
I have done the research, and its really that simple. Arizona only requires an inspection if the bike was purchased out of state. Thats the biggest hurdle here.
I've called DMV myself, as well as online research, and even have a neighbor with a street legal quad. It's a piece of cake.
My problem is, finding or making a mount for the plate/tail/brakelight. I dont want it getting all messed up when I loop a wheelie
Once I do that, I will go down and get the MC registration.
