CRF70 Mods? etc..

My boy just got hooked up with an '04 CRF70. I just sold my '04 50.. and this thing sucks compared to the 50!!

But anyways, what mods are you guys doing? Stock it doesnt really need bars, but maybe a bigger rear sprocket? 2-4 teeth? Street tires?

I had an '04 crf70...then gixxerguy6 talked me into the best mod ever - I sold it and bought a 50

Re: CRF70 Mods? etc..

Yeah, getting the 70 up in a wheelie is ALOT of freakin work. You gotta sit WAY back, then when it comes up, your weight is so far back side to side becomes a problem. I had an '04 CRF50, I killed on that thing, but the 70.. very inconsistant wheelies. Couple days ago I was tearing it up, 12ves and chit, but yesterday I was riding a 50 and the 70 back to back, and the 70 was ga'bage!

Also, factory, the motor is pretty much like a 50 with a bigger jug/piston/carb (or so it seems, im not totally sure) and the rear sprocket is actually 1 tooth smaller than the 50. My guess is to gain more top end for bigger kids.

Re: CRF70 Mods? etc..

Put a 20mm carb on the CRF70, it will really wake things up and try going up 2 teeth on the front sprocket.

why would you wanna go up 2 teeth on the front sprocket?...that will make it a lot harder to wheelie

You need BMX bar , pegs , street tires and (!!!) Manual Clutch ! CRF with MC can doing wheelie on all 3 gears. , if you want doing hi speed wheelie . I was riding on stock sprockets , it's not bad . Also was modificated stock springs on heavy duty springs for my weight.

PS Sorry for my english.

PPS Sorry , I dont see date of post (((

Re: CRF70 Mods? etc..

they arent that much harder, and circles on them feel real like on a big bike...you have to fight highside unlike a fiddy you just throw it down with just your legs
