AMA and MotoGP are two different things.
AMA is like for the average guy, you own a 1000cc bike? enter and race, you can race with the big boys!
motoGP is NOT for the public. I don't know about you, but i don't have a bike that can do 215 MPH, and weigh less than 300 pounds.
GP bikes have on the order of 200HP. this is off the crank.

220+ hp.. 210+ mph for sure. Theres a quote from FASTER..
Rossi "125cc ehh.. 250cc pretty good... 500cc GP AH ***!" now that the 4-strokes have entered they're even faster, more powerful, more controllable!
The YZF-R7 OW-02 is a bike thats pretty much a full on track bike sold awhile back by Yamaha.
Anyone see the Nac-Nac by Rossi? nice!

Oh yeah, I bet he wasn't just like "I think I'll try that!" bet he'd done it a few times before.
And check out the seat stander!

Re: You Haterz Best Respect Dis!
Rossi is the best rider in the world right now, and he is on his way to staking a claim as the best rider ever. Moto GP is the toughest class in the world, even the guys in the back of the pack are insane riders. Don't take anything away from AMA though. I wouldn't say it's for your average rider. Granted it's not the best of the best in the world, but there are still some amazing riders out there like Mladin, E-boz, and guys you gotta watch out for in the future like Zemke.
If Moto GP bikes aren't worth a million dollars they sure are close. They are the most advanced motorcycles in the world. There power/weight ratio is unmatched.
I don't doubt Rossi can't even walk out his front door, in Europe they go all or nothing for sports, and racing is HUGE over there, I wish it was more like that over here. NHIS is 10 minutes from my house, but all they race there anymore is NASCAR (the shittiest sport ever) AMA doesn't even come to Louden anymore because the owner of NHIS doesn't give a **** about motorcycle racing, and the bikes became too fast for the track, and he refuses to make changes to accomodate road-racing. If you blow turn three you go head first 100 mph into a concrete wall... It's sad.
But Moto GP is coming to Laguna Seca again for the first time since like 10 years, so hopefully that will start raising some awareness and get more people into the sport, it's a shame that most Americans don't know what real racing is because these guys are true masters of these incredible machines we call motorcycles.

Its not good PR for your rider, racing your bike, to be other manufactures bike, especially if its when NOT on a track. Again especially when the whole purpose of X Bike manufacture has you riding their machine to help promote/sell their bike to the public that will be purchasing the bike 99.999% of the time to ride on the street.
"OH yeah, lets let our biggest add mechanism just go out and ride a honda RR instead of the R1 and be photographed on it, letting everyone out there know when it comes down to a leisure bike he's not riding our brand.." Yeah, thats exactly what those guys over at Yamaha are thinking.

It was a street or AMA bike. You see, there has not yet ever been a bike that can match a GP bike, that's been released to the public.
Ducati is workin on the GP bike right now, and it'll be the first to hit the mass market. 220HP, and less than 300 pounds...WET.
175 at the wheel is around...184 at the crank. that's a 24 horse increase fromt he Stock HP of a GSX-R 1000.
Now, a GP bike has 220 at the crank, and lighter and strong components, so less power is taken by the transmission, clutch, flywheel, even the chain.
So a AMA class GSX-R 1000 has 184 at the crank, and a GP bike has 220 at the crank.
Dude, AMA is awsome, but GP has faster, better hanlding bikes, no getting around that. But ther will e no getting around any of us on one of those bikes either, So AMA is good for me
I read somewhere that the YSR-M1 (rossi's bike) has 20 valves per cylinder.
I dunno if it's true, but still.
believe me, if you could buy a ibke that was anywhere NEAR a GP bike, it'd cost more than a Saleen S7. I' talking 750,000-1 million area, not to mentaion the cost of running it, all parts are cost built, and no after market.

First of all this is called "stunt life" NOT "race life"
Rossi is the man on the track, but his little baby power wheelies are not stunts, they are known as "GA"BAGE"
If you wanna post race ****, do it in the Fu)kin race forum.
