Fahrenheit 9-11

I just saw the movie Fahrenheit 9-11 last night, and damn that **** makes you think...my question is, what are your views on the war in Iraq (justified or not? for the right reasons or not?) and also if you have seen the movie, how did it change your outlook on the war (and on Bush) from the perspective of the military?

let the polititians do politics and let the soldiers fight... I dont think we should have gone to Iraq but that's not my decision. We're there and we have a job to do. It's too late now to argue over the war.....

I think it's good that movie is out there.. The thing is total propaganda, but it reminds the masses of people that the Middle East is a totally different culture, and that you can't apply our values and morals to them... Seeing how bad it is over there helps you understand why they're so willing to fight and die.. I hate hearing people talk like the Iraqis are ungrateful or something... If France came in here and said they were gonna liberate us from Bush and all his lies, dont you think the beach would be full of armed Americans ready to kill the first Frenchman to set foot on US soil?? The movie reminds you that war is a damned ugly thing and that those people have seen so much misery...
The movie didnt change my mind however... It just gave me graphic representation of what I already thought... I didnt really listen to the facts, I just watched the footage. It did make me think that Micheal Moore wishes he was Jesus though...

thanks, that's probably the best response i've had, and thanks to everyone else too. I was just curious as to how the actual soldiers, not just spectators, responded to the movie

Re: Fahrenheit 9-11

The whole goal here is to protect america right? Then why are so many americans dieing in Iraq right now? Every day you see the count rising. When will it stop? All we're doing is pissing more people off. Look at how many countries we have bases in or that we occupy. Japan, Iraq, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, the list goes on. How many countries have we all been deployed to? We've got our nose in so many peoples business. How many places have we been where it has turned around and bitten us in the ***? I just think we need to be worrying more about American and less about the rest of the world. The whole reason this terrortist thing started is because we were in there business. Why do you think they hate us? I think we're in for a long ride through hell in Iraq. It's not going to be over for a long time and I don't think the American people realize that. Anyways as far as the movie I think it is a real big eye opener. I know it's one sided, but it makes you think about whos running this country. It can't all be BS. A lot of it is facts. I hesitated to see the movie for a while after his performance in Bowling for Columbine. I'm sure everyone saw that movie. I thought he was a freakin idiot after that one, but thats a different subject. All I know is that we're spending way too much time and too many people are dieing and not getting paid enough to do it. When we all could be back home on one wheel or knee dragging. This deployment thing sucks ***! I WANNA RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
