i am a 17 yr old high skooler, wanting to whoop some *** racing against my friends, they all have cars and i know a motorcycle could kill them all, i was looking at a brand newe kawasaki zx6r but the insurance will kill me, i was wondering if a 1994 yamaha FZR1000 could do the trick, i don't want a ***** bike, but i want something that i can ahndle, i've never ridden anything bigger than a moped be4, but at somepoint u've gotta get ur feet wet, either reply to me on this or email me @ walkthesecircles@hotmail.com

Get an old CBR600F2 , you can spank most cars and you won't be over powered---have fun

My first bike was a 92 cbr600f2. You can make it do just about anything you want. They are cheap too, bout $2500-3000. I recommend a 600 for your first street bike.

Mine too was an F2 as my first bike ... $3000 back in 98 ... for a 92 with pipe and jet kit... nice bike to start out on!!! Baby steps!!!

That depends on how long you want to live - FZR1000 is not a beginners bike, it handles great if you have some experience but it's a 126bhp stock bike that weights about 470lbs - not something you want to get in a bad spot with if you can't handle it, and with no experience I doubt you could (no offense) It's a great bike but I'd agree with the other guys - get an older CBR600 F2/F3 or even a Kawasaki Ninja500 (I know people say they are slow but I had one for a year and it takes a porsche to beat ya from a stoplight)
