Dont start out on anything bigger than a 600. Just my $.02....i started out on a GSXR 600. I still have it. It is a great bike. Atleast it was for me.

I am sure you can pick one up for cheap money. Yeah that is my bike in the picture. I was thinking of selling it and getting a different bike but I havent made up my mind yet! If i do I will keep you in mind

with 4500-5500 you can get a gixxer 750. i'd consider a gsxr600 97' -up or a 96' 750-up, great bikes, very fast, look good, and there are alot of cheap parts for them

Cool Get what you want!!!

My first bike was a 2001 TL1000R. It does not matter what you buy. A 600 or a liter bike with both kill you. What matters is how you ride and how you respect the bike.

you should grab that ZX ASAP the 9 is a good all around bike and its very comfortable on long rides 2 thats a great price especially if it has extras. The question is what is your experience have you rode dirt? how many times have you ridden street. Get some pointers from this board b4 you hit the street

I'll sell you my Katana750 for $4,000 w/6Kmi and not a scratch on it.
It has a tinted windscreen, tank half-bra, custom seat, V&H S2R full exhaust, brand NEW tires, and 2 matching helmets.

I'll add .02 as well, go with the sv650 or the s, you can get brand new for 5700, I bought one for my wife this year and shaved the seat and lengthened the cushion rod to lower the tail.

Even lowered, allthough I look like a monkey on scooter, the thing has a ton of pop, its easy to work on and goes like a bastard. Used with low miles can be found for 4k easy.

Ask Johnny if they can stunt... I've seen a few and he owned one for a bit as well
